SERVICES

First and foremost I want to express that my practice is entirely inclusive and welcoming of all genders, sexualities, races, ages, and creeds.

For new clients I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation or video chat. Book a consult in the "BOOK APPOINTMENTS" link above. I look forward to speaking with you.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a medical practice which involves the insertion of extremely thin needles at specific points on your body to alleviate your symptoms. I use an integrative style, using methodology from ancient Eastern medical practices and modern Western approaches to yield the most effective results possible. We will work together to formulate an individualized treatment plan through a comprehensive intake.

BODY EDUCATION

During sessions, I assess what postural and/or lifestyle imbalances may be contributing to your primary complaints. I can offer stretches and foam rolling techniques, guided breathing exercises, workout exercises, as well as postural and body mechanic adjustments that can benefit you.

COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture in a group setting, rather than a private treatment room. You’ll pick a reclining chair to lounge in and we will talk briefly for a couple of minutes.I’ll ask questions to see how I can best help you. Then you’ll lie back, I’ll insert acupuncture points, and you’ll rest or nap for 15-30 minutes. Because this is a group setting, I mainly treat using points on the hands, feet, neck, arms, legs, and head.

Chairs are socially distanced, air filters on, and masks are mandatory for all practitioners and clients. Please be sure to silence your phone and speak quietly so that we can create a peaceful air in this shared space.

CUPPING

Cupping is often used to alleviate respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia. It is also an effective treatment for chronic and acute neuromuscular or musculoskeletal pain such as neck, shoulder, and back pain. Plastic cups are applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced by suctioning out the air, leaving the skin and superficial muscle layer drawn into the cup. Clients often experience immediate relief from pain symptoms, as well as restored energy following their cupping treatment.

Cupping is generally contraindicated for people who are taking blood thinners or have clotting disorders. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me during your complementary 15-minute consult.

E-STIM

E-stim (electrical stimulation) is often used for pain reduction, musculoskeletal conditions, spasticity, and paralysis. Small lightweight clips are attached to specific needles and micro-currents of electricity gently stimulate the points and increase circulation, disrupt pain nerve signals, and relax muscles. E-stim is a pain-free procedure which clients often find relaxing.

GUASHA

Literally translated to "scraping evil," guasha is the act of using a smooth object to bring toxins, pathogens, and stagnation to the surface, allowing it to vent out of your body. It improves circulation of your blood and lymph and is a wonderful treatment for pain, soreness and stiffness as well as headaches, reducing inflammation, the common cold, and irritability. This again, like many things on my website is a non-exhaustive list :)

Guasha is generally contraindicated for people who are taking blood thinners or have clotting disorders. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me during your complementary 15-minute consult.

INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE

Soothing your aches and pains, and knocking out your knots, these massages involve a mix of Eastern and Western modalities. Your session combines Shiatsu, Tui Na, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Trigger Point Therapy to create the most effective and deeply felt results. Please come dressed in loose clothing that can be rolled up to your knees and elbows to allow for optimal maneuverability and access to your muscles and meridians.

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique shown to be beneficial for a variety of conditions including but not limited to muscle and joint pain, irregular menstruation, fatigue, wound healing from surgery or trauma, stress, anxiety and depression. It has also been proven to enhance the immune system. The technique involves burning of moxa near the surface of your skin at specific points. Moxa is a bundle of dried leaves and mugwort plants. The purpose of moxibustion is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi and maintain general health. Heat produced by the burning herbs penetrates deeply into the body, restoring the balance and flow of vital energy.

NUTRITION THERAPY

Food is a foundational form of medicine. Most of us take several doses a day. In the Tang dynasty, Sun Si-Miao, the greatest Chinese doctor of his time said, "Chinese medicine doctors should first modify the patient’s diet and lifestyle and, only if those remedies are not enough, should they apply acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine to treat patient’s unbalance.” Finding a way of eating that helps you feel like your best self can be challenging on your own and I have the training to guide you.

TELEMEDICINE

Using a video chat platform, I conduct a thorough assessment and provide acupressure prescriptions, self-massage coaching, personalized nutritional therapy, and targeted exercises using little or no gym equipment.
